About Me

I have been teaching for 19 years. Originally form Long Island, New York, I moved to Potsdam to pursue my music degree at the Crane School of Music. While at Crane I studied saxophone under Dr. James Stoltie. I graduated from Crane with my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education.

I began my teaching career in 1994 at the St. Regis Mohawk School in Akwesasne, NY. There I taught Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade General Music and 4th through 6th grade Band. After 13 years at the Mohawk School, I accepted a music position at Potsdam Central School.  My duties included Pre-Kindergarten through 1st grade General Music, Special Education classes, Instrumental Lessons, 4th Grade Band and 4th Grade Orchestra.  I taught in this capacity for three years, at which time lack of funding caused a reduction in staff.

While on a hiatus from the music department at PCS, I accepted a long term substitute position teaching kindergarten. While teaching, I completed the necessary classes to become certified in Early Childhood and Childhood education.  These certifications enable me to teach students from birth through 6th grade.
In 2011 I returned to college full time to pursue a second Master's degree in Special Education.  Having completed the requirements, I am now certified in Early Childhood and Childhood Special Education.
Last year I returned to the music teaching profession as a BOCES employee.  In this position I serviced two school districts, Potsdam Central School and Norwood-Norfolk Central School.  My responsibilities included teaching general music to students in kindergarten through 3rd grade.

In 2013, I returned to Lawrence Ave. Elementary as a full time Potsdam School District employee. It is thrilling to be back with the students of PCS. I teach general music to kindergarten through 3rd grade and 3rd and 4th grade chorus.  I live in Potsdam with my 3 children and many pets. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and musicals.
